‘North should stop sabotaging Jonathan’s effort towards ending Boko Haram insurgency’

THE Ebonyi State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP youth leader, Comrade Chinedu Ogah has called on Northern leaders especially politicians to stop sabotaging President Goodluck Jonathan’s efforts towards ending the Boko Haram insurgency in the country. The youth leader made the call Tuesday while fielding questions from journalists at his residence in Abakaliki. He stated that the reason the Boko Haram sect were having their way in killing of innocent Nigerians was because of an existing conspiracy against the administration of President Jonathan and his presidential ambition come 2015 general election. According to him, nobody can stop President Jonathan from contesting and winning the forthcoming general election considering his impact in the lives of the Nigerian populace. Ogah argued that if the Boko Haram insurgency remained in existence till next year’s election period, the constitution of Nigeria would empower the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, not to conduct election in the affected states in the country as such development would in all ramifications favour Dr. Goodluck Jonathan’s return to office as President of Nigeria. He called for a more effective collaboration between all the Northern leaders especially in the North central zone of the country and the security agencies deployed in their area to forestall the brutal killing of innocent lives and destruction of properties by the deadly Islamic sect. He said: “Nobody is contesting the Presidency with President Goodluck Jonathan; he will win even in the North Central where there is problem; the more the Boko Haram insurgency remains, the more the constitution of Nigeria will not allow election to hold in that place and President Jonathan will continue to be the President of this country. “What are the Governors of the North doing to end insurgency? For example in Chibok where these girls were kidnapped, what has the security agents, the Governor of the affected state, the school Principal, northern leaders done and they are blaming Mr. President. Who opened the gate for the Boko Haram to kidnap the school girls? “I wish to commend the effort of all the security agents in this country; the problem they are having in solving this insurgency borders on pure sabotage. They should stop sabotaging the President because he is doing a lot to crush the Boko Haram sect”. Ends
