Obiano Set To Fight Insecurity With Job Creation

Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has assured the youths and the unemployed of his readiness to provide over five hundred thousand jobs to as many as are willing to work. He announced the plan aimed at in ridding the state of all criminal elements after the Joint Security Operation embarked on a show of might in the rural communities of the state as most criminals who have fled the urban areas as a result of the brigade attack on them were hibernating in the rural villages. The governor said registration of unemployed youths had commenced in the 21 Local Government Areas of the state and called on all youths to utilise the opportunity and get employment. From the Divisional Police Station, Ogidi, in Idemili North Local Government Area, the Joint Security Operation comprising the Police, Army, Navy, State Security Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and the Civil Defense moved in a convoy to patrol the rural areas. The patrol was not to create fear or terror in the hearts of the people but it was a show of might and superiority over kidnappers and armed robbers in order to affirm the resolve of the Joint Security Operation to dismantling their command and control centers for those who have fled the major cities of the state. The state commissioner of police urged the rural residents to give information to the police if any unknown fellow or activity is noticed in their neighborhood. When the patrol team got to Oyeagu Abagana, Dunukofia local government area, residents express satisfaction at the level of security they are presently enjoying unlike before. People stood in awe and wonder as the patrol team moved from Oyeagu to the notorious Awkuzu Junction where navy and military check points were permanently stationed. On issues of security and unemployment in the state, the Governor assured the people of his commitment to a safe and secure Anambra and announced the registration of youths in the 21 Local Government Areas for meaningful job opportunities. It is on record that within the two months the Joint Security Operation onslaught commenced in the state. Over 250 criminals have been arrested with 47 as kidnappers. Their property and hideouts have also been demolished with the latest being the Ezinifite and Azia demolition which took place less than a fortnight ago.
