Yes, 90% of Chibok girls’ protesters belong to APC —Gbajabiamila
The Minority Leader of House of
Representatives, Honourable Femi
Gbajabiamila, on Sunday, expressed
satisfaction remarks made by the Minister of
Information, Mr Labaran Maku, last
Wednesday, where he alleged that about 90 per
cent of protesters campaigning for the release of
the over 200 schoolgirls abducted in Chibok,
Borno State, were members of the All
Progressives Congress (APC).
Honourable Gbajabiamila, in a statement made
available to newsmen in Abuja, on Sunday,
through his research aide, Mr Wasiu
Olanrewaju-Smart said “Mr Maku, the
Information Minister is right.”
According his statement, Honourable
Gbajabiamila believed that remarks made by
the Minister of Information were a tactical
admittance of leadership failure and the Federal
Government was only losing confidence of
many Nigerians, which it had failed to protect.
He said: “I am particularly chuffed that the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led
government has finally woken up to smell the
coffee and has admitted that APC is a
movement and that 90 per cent of Nigerians are
APC, because as far as I know, that is the exact
percentage of Nigerians that are criticising
government over the handling of the terrorism.”
The lawmaker advised the Federal Government
to retrace its step in handling insecurity in the
country and face reality, saying “conscience is
like an open wound and only the truth can heal
it.”
