Special adviser to the President on
political affairs, Prof Rufai Ahmed Alkali has taken full control of
Jonathan Support Group (GSG); a group billed to coordinate the over
3,000 groups positioning to campaign for President Goodluck Jonathan in
the 2015 election.
Speaking at the familiarization visit
and facility tour of the GSG at the weekend in Abuja, Prof. Alkali said
President Jonathan’s transformation agenda is on course and would
eventually translate to peace, progress and socio-economic development
of all Nigerians.
“Accordingly, permit me to announce that effective immediately, I have taken control of the Goodluck Support Group (GSG) and assumed my position as the national coordinator. I ask all management and staff to ensure that henceforth, proper authorization

directive is received before any project or management decision is
made,” he said. “Accordingly, permit me to announce that effective immediately, I have taken control of the Goodluck Support Group (GSG) and assumed my position as the national coordinator. I ask all management and staff to ensure that henceforth, proper authorization
He said the transformation agenda of the present administration is a process that needed time to mature and would therefore reposition the GSG to ensure that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) wins the 2015 general elections.
“I urge you to re-double your efforts to win votes and friends for our amiable President and party. You must also know that the challenge we faced in the 2011 election is different today; the times are different, the variables are different and the environment is different. Therefore, a careful assessment towards the road to victory in 2015 would require different applications and strategies,” he said.
He said the visit was in line with his determination to appreciate the demands of the facilities essential for delivery of his services to President Jonathan and the PDP in 2015, stressing that the organization which “served as a hub for more than 3,000 pro-Jonathan and pro-PDP groups” had in 2011 delivered victory to the party and would do same in 2015.
