The bible supported this by saying "my people perish(worse than dying) for lack of knowledge." Awon ti o gbon ju Jona lo ti se kona ni gba ti oun sese yo lookan.
How do I mean? Does Jagaban, APC or any se...rious northerner ever talk about any fake National Conference again? No! Why? Because "afi sehin ni eegun n fi aso" (sunk cost to accountant), they don pass that tipetipe!
Hear Jega last week: election will be January 2015 and therefore electioneering campaigns begin around August this year. Where is any chance for any useless National Conference again. Meanwhile, January 2014 is already gone.
Listen to Brian Browne, that subtle diplomat, a great thinker and outstanding writer: "the man who knows not the difference between day and night is fated to sleep when it's light and plow his fields in the dark. May God have pity on him for the world shall not." Jonathan, as in the Biblical Jona, was sleeping in the day while his opponents were plowing. Me I won't have pity on him at all because nkan to n wo ti egbe e fi gbon lo, a koko so fun mi naa.
Awon to ni agbara have already hijacked the initiative from Jonathan, SABADA!
Professor Wole Soyinka talking about Mustaphar, on August 17th, 2011, says: "Power is transient, authority enduring. Without power, authority still validates itself, since authority is shorn of crassness of power and exists in autonomous replection, without coersion, without bribery or crude terms of inducement."
Continuing, the erudite Prof says "Without authority, power is internally corrupted, a decade husk whose grain has long fallen to worms, a masquarade without core, animation or essence."
In my town, we have a powerful masquerade called 'Gbado'. Very potent. So potent all the people of the township fear it. Gbado's core is its prowess in defeating any of its opponent even those outside the town. The 'eegun' has an efigy on its head and when he is fexed, he downloads it and my people say 'gbado soru'. At the point of 'downloading', not even its ope(followers and owners) or his Bata Drummer, Akadiri, is able to stand and wait - all would enter bush until the eegun 'uploads' again. That is his animation. Gbado's essence is the ritual and sacrifice it does for the town. The ritual is that it hands the sword of power to Baba Funfun or Iyekiye, another masquerades that coalesce/end each year's masquerade festival, while the sacrifice is carrying the most potent 'etutu' for the town when the need arise.
I can not imagine our town without such a powerful masquerade. However, what is worse is Gbado without its 'core'(winnable prowess), 'animation'(soru) and 'essence'(ritual & sacrificial).
Jonathan is without all these because he has only power but hasn't got the authority to further Nigerian progress.
