The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter of the
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has passed a
Vote of Confidence on President Goodluck
Jonathan, the FCT Minister, Bala Abdulkadir
Mohammed and the FCT Minister of State, Oloye
Olajumoke Akinjide.
This was contained in a statement signed by the
Assistant Director/Chief press secretary to the FCT
minister, Mohammad Hazat Sule, and issued at
the end of the party’s stakeholders / family
meeting, on Thursday, in Gwarinpa I District,
Abuja, as party members said it was due to their
appreciation of all the laudable and people-
oriented policies and programmes of the Federal
Government, particularly as it affected the FCT.
“The Stakeholders therefore assured the President
and his lieutenants in Federal Capital Territory
that they are solidly behind them,” the statement
read.
The FCT PDP Chairman, Yahaya Suleiman, the
past and the present FCT PDP EXCO members,
the Senator representing FCT, Philip Tanimu
Aduda, members of the House of Representatives
representing Abuja North and South respectively,
the past and present Area Councils’ Chairmen, as
well as the Party Ward leaders attended the
stakeholders meeting.
The stakeholders who spoke in one voice in
appreciating the good works of the FCT
Administration stressed that they had always
been carried along in the administration of the
territory by the current crop of its leadership.
They specifically noted that Federal
Appointments, like the Commissioners of the
Federal Civil Service Commission, National
Assembly Service Commission, Revenue
Mobilization and Allocation amongst others
considered residents of the Territory.
Responding, the FCT Minister appreciated the
vote of confidence on President Goodluck
Jonathan anf his Administration, and noted that it
would spur them to greater heights.
He called on the other PDP State Chapters in the
federation to emulate the FCT, which had been
and remained a source of encouragement to his
administration because the chapter had always
shown reliability.
While promising to deliver their Vote of
Confidence message to the president, the
minister remarked that politics was all about good
governance, love and reward.
