Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso yesterday advised politicians to guard against utterances capable of overheating the polity.
Kwankwaso gave the advice when a delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Senator Kabiru Gaya, including a former presidential candidate, Alhaji Bashir Tofa; the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) Secretary, Alhaji Ado Kabir; a former governorship aspirant, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil; and Alhaji Barau Jibrin, a former member of the House of Representatives, paid him a courtesy call at Government House, Kano.
The governor urged politicians to shun do-or-die politics and the use of public office for self-aggrandisement.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported Kwankwaso as also urging political office holders to use their positions to positively change the lives of the people.
In his remark, Gaya called on the people in the state to support the governor to move the state forward.
He commended Kwankwaso for his efforts at transforming the state.
