Senator
Rukayyat Gbemisola Saraki yesterday formalized her membership of the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as she took part in the party’s ongoing
registration exercise in the state.
She said the turn-out of people for the registration showed that the party is the choice of Kwarans.
She said, “We have to remain steadfast and peaceful, it is very important to be peaceful because a wounded lion is an angry lion and we are not wounded, we know where we are. So the best thing is to be peaceful, we know we have no rancour, if we know we have no rancour which we don’t, it doesn’t matter what they say.”
She said the PDP in Kwara is solidly on ground and that the party is not a wounded lion as some are saying.
Gbemi registered as a PDP member at her Ajikobi Central ward with registration number 860453 in the presence of her supporters who trooped out to receive her.
She urged supporters of the party to be peaceful and shun rancour and acrimony stressing that the party is making progress in the state.
“A wounded lion is an angry lion and we are not wounded, we know where we are”, Saraki stated while registering.
She also said that the ongoing national conference was not a waste of time as some people believe, advocating that the confab should be held constantly for Nigerians to “think, talk and debate” on how to move the nation forward.
