We’ll not allow Oshiomhole to choose successor —PDP

Meanwhile, Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that it will thwart efforts by the state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, at choosing the next governor of the state. Edo State chairman of the party, Chief Dan Orbih, who stated this while speaking at the weekend in Benin at a rally organised to welcome defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area to the PDP, said that the people had since realised that the government could not be trusted to deliver on its electoral promises, hence they would resist plans by the governor to decide who would govern the state. “They have realized that he is the exact opposite of what he claims to be. Edo people will not make the same mistake again. As he is going, his party, the APC, and the hardship they have brought upon Edo people will go with them. Never again shall we allow stranger to rule us. He came from Kaduna and Edo people have realized the error they made in putting their faith in a stranger. More than five years after his government, he has not fulfilled his electoral promises,” Orbih said. He pointed out that it was sad that the government was finding it difficult to power the generator at the Benin Central Hospital while the governor embarks on a wild goose chase of looking for foreign investors that costs over N40 million per trip and more than N4.5 billion in total. Also speaking at the rally, the PDP chairman in Ikpoba Okha Local Government, Hon Scot Osagiede expressed joy that leaders of the PDP in all the wards of the council have seen reasoned to return home, pointing out that with their entrant to the PDP, the end has come for the APC the council. Among those that defected from the APC along with their followers from the ten wards of the local government are Chief Dan Osabuohien, Nelson Edosomwan, Elder Sunday Osawe, Mrs. Rose Okungbowa and Elder Mike Ojo.
