Group call Mu'azu to reposition party
A group; Kwara Unity for Freedom has called on the national
leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) to reposition
the party in Kwara State to enhance its success in the 2015
general elections.
The group frowned at what it called neglect and apathy by
stakeholders of the party at the national level, saying a quick
intervention will put PDP on a sound footing in the state.
Addressing a press conference yesterday in Abuja, interim
chairman of the group, Comrade Ayo Olorunfemi said: “It is
worrisome that Kwara State lacks adequate institutional
representation at the federal level, those who claim to represent
us are not genuine PDP members.”
He urged the national leadership of the PDP to accommodate
what it described as “loyal party members” and not those
“masquerading” themselves as party members who he said have
an ideology different from the PDP.
He also appealed to President Goodluck Jonathan to bring on
board from the state, faithful party members who are committed
to the transformation agenda of the federal government.
Olorunfemi however, slammed leaders of the party in the state
who he alleged have engaged in anti-party activities but
applauded the national PDP chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu,
and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) in
their efforts to reconcile party members and entrench internal
democracy in the party.
